A Perfect Storm: Scarcity and Investor Appetite

Platinum has traded in a volatile range in recent weeks, with sharp market swings driven by persistent shortages and rising demand. The World Platinum Investment Council’s Q2 2025 report highlighted these dynamics: despite only a modest deficit, prices still surged 37% over the quarter. This points to an increased appreciation of platinum as a store of value.

The volatility reflects widening geographic imbalances and fierce competition for limited above‑ground supply. Inventories have been drawn down, lease rates remain elevated, and investor appetite for physical bars and coins is accelerating—most visibly in China.

Potential Effect of the OPICO

Against this backdrop, our planned launch in 2026 of our OPICO, which stands for the Optimal Platinum Coin and represents a transformative development in the market. By creating a new channel for demand, the OPICO has the potential to reshape market balance and drive sustained price appreciation.

Unlike gold, which enjoys vast above-ground reserves, platinum inventories are razor-thin and barely sufficient for normal market functioning. If investor adoption of the OPICO proves substantial, this additional demand could further intensify scarcity and strengthen upward price pressure.

Digital Innovation: Accessibility for All

Just as the World Gold Council’s digital gold initiative will modernise access and improve liquidity for gold investors, our OPICO digital coin will bring platinum into the digital age.

Today, most investors face significant barriers: futures contracts are prohibitively complex and illiquid, while ETFs remain the only practical option. The OPICO removes these hurdles and makes platinum ownership simple, secure, and accessible—delivering direct, metal-backed exposure to one of the world’s rarest and most indispensable resources.
